Just closed out a visit to the Sherpa hotel which presented us with a great location to snowboard getting in Was easy off the back of the Plein Sud piste getting out you had a short lung busting walk up out the back heading off into the town where u can access many different lifts to get you up and out into the huge VT resort The hotel itself I thought the rooms were tired and the mattress on both beds needing replacing felt like sleeping in a half pipe. There is a great bar area and the staff were brilliant. The prices in the bar do need reviewing we all know it’s expensive however we found this bar to be over priced and there was no local house wine just expensive bottles of wine Restaurant was excellent sweet trolley was amazing and all the dishes we had over the week tasted and looked great again the staff in the restaurant were brilliant and made us feel very welcome great sauna and ice bath for the brave which we did use all week

A review is absolutely necessary for Le Sherpa. We had the best week here, which was a trip for my 30th, from the friendliness of the staff to the amazing food each night. I don't have a bad word to say about this hotel, a few reviews mention the dated decor but it's just traditional chalet style and adds to the coziness of the place. The staff couldn't do enough for us, on the first night we asked for a kettle in the room while at dinner, by the time we went back to the room it was there. We loved how easy it was to ski back to the hotel, which was via an easy blue run. To ski out you have to walk a couple of minutes to the slop, which wasn't an issue as it warmed us up nicely before starting to ski. The location of the hotel is fabulous, it takes a couple of minutes to walk into the town which has lots of bars/pubs and supermarkets. The hotel is also ideal for anyone wanting to visit Folie Douce, it was just one chair lift up and then a 5 minute ski back to the hotel via an easy blue run. We would definitely choose Le Sherpa again if we came back to Val Thorens!

With friends for a weeks skiing and what fantastic family run hotel to be based at. The staff are amazing and so friendly. Food is always fantastic. Excellent buffet breakfasts and fine dining for evening meals. The local cheeses on offer and the deserts are exceptional! Ski into a great sunset balcony at the end of the day, or relaxing and comfortable lounge areas.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Hotel Le Sherpa which really lived up to expectations. The evening meals were truly out of this world, exceptional food and the deserts were to die for. Breakfasts were plentiful with so much choice, one small improvement could be made with the egg boiling system but only a minor point. Rooms were comfortable and well equipped, the bar area was so warm and cosy, perfect to enjoy a drink next to the open fire or a sunny window overlooking the slopes. Alternatively the terrace was a great spot to enjoy the stunning views with a really good vibe. We enjoyed the spa facilities on our last day which was a brilliant treat and an amazing way to end the holiday. The staff were all attentive and friendly throughout our stay and honestly work so hard, always with smiles on their faces. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.

An excellent ski hotel with outstanding food. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much to ask. The bedrooms and public rooms were spotlessly clean. All the previous reviews about the very high standard of food lived up to and went beyond my expectations. The hotel’s location is near perfect. It is possible for skiers of almost any ability to ski out and ski into the hotel.Albeit,we were lucky with the perfect snow conditions!

Le Sherpa is a lovely family owned hotel with very friendly staff. Well located just above the main road of bars and shops in the resort. Ski in is direct to the hotel. Ski out requires a short walk up a small hill which was not a problem. Good boot room. All very convenient. There is a really lovely sun terrace which is great for après ski. The bar was also very cozy with a good drinks menu. Food was excellent especially the dinner each night. Our room was comfortable. We paid extra for a panorama room which was worth it for the balcony and view where you could watch the sunset over the mountains. All in all we had a lovely week staying here and would be more than happy to return in future.

We had an amazing stay at Le Sherpa in January 2025. The reception staff were so helpful from the moment you walked in. The rooms were comfortable with a good shower and comfortable beds. Ski boot room had heated racks in each locker. Ski in ski out was ok - the ski back at night was fine, down a narrow but easy slope, but it is not really ski out, you could ski down through the town if there had been a lot of snow, or you would have to walk up to one of the main slopes (not far!). The food was amazing every night. The best bit about the hotel was the staff, especially Charlotte our waitress each night, she was always smiling and really attentive! We would definitely come back to Le Sherpa if returning to Val Thorens!

Just amazing, the bar area is lovely, rooms are fine but the food is out of this world. Five amazing courses every night, excellent local cuisine and great staff. Our waitress was Charlotte, very helpful and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble

I very rarely feel compelled to leave a review but, having just returned from my skiing holiday at Le Sherpa, I must compliment all the staff at Le Sherpa for a very wonderful stay. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and attentive. It is a small knit guest orientated team. Many of the staff have been with the hotel for several years and are committed to providing a first class service. Best hotel I have stayed in whilst skiing. Thank you so much, Maxime and all your team, for making us feel so special and welcome. I shall return.
